Is this the right trap?

Fungus gnats and fruit flies look alike but need a different product. Check where they come from.

  • Fungus gnats

    Yes, this product

    Fungus gnats

From the potting soil of your houseplants, especially when you water. Slim and black; they flutter in short hops just above the soil.

  • Fruit flies

    No, you need something else

    Fruit flies

By the fruit bowl, the bin or empty bottles. Light brown body with bright red eyes; they circle slowly around the fruit.

How to use

How to use them

  1. Peel off the film

Peel the protective film off both sides of the trap.

  2. Push into the potting soil

Push the trap upright into the potting soil, close to the stem. That is where the fungus gnats flutter around.

  3. One per pot

Allow one trap per pot, and two for a large pot or a heavy infestation.

  4. Let the soil dry out

Let the top 2 to 3 centimetres of soil dry out between waterings, because the larvae need moisture. Once the trap is full, replace it.

About this product

Fungus Gnat Killer: Yellow Sticky Traps, 60 pieces

Black flies that rise up when you water your houseplants are fungus gnats. These Super Ninja yellow sticky traps go straight into the potting soil: the yellow colour attracts the adult gnats and the adhesive layer holds them. 60 yellow sticky traps per pack.

  • Catches adult fungus gnats around houseplants
  • Works on colour, not on scent, with adhesive on both sides
  • Up to 3 months per trap
  • One trap per pot, two in a large pot or a heavy infestation
  • 60 traps per pack for all the pots in the house

Peel off the film on both sides and push the trap upright into the potting soil, close to the stem. The larvae live in the soil, so let the top 2 to 3 cm dry out between waterings.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

How many sticky traps do I put in each pot?

One trap per pot, and two for a large pot or a heavy infestation. Push it upright into the soil, close to the stem.

Why do new fungus gnats keep appearing?

Because the larvae live in the potting soil and the traps only catch the adult flies. Let the top 2 to 3 centimetres of soil dry out between waterings, because the larvae need moisture. With a heavy infestation, tackle the larvae in the soil as well.

How long does a sticky trap keep working?

Up to 3 months. If the trap fills up with flies sooner, replace it.

Do the yellow sticky traps also work against fruit flies?

They are not made for that. Fruit flies around the fruit bowl or the bin are drawn to the smell of fermentation; that is what the fruit fly trap is for.

What does delivery cost and can I return my order?

You will see the delivery cost at checkout. You have 30 days to change your mind. Did something arrive leaking or damaged? You choose: a new product or your money back.
