A silverfish trap catches the silverfish already in your home and shows where and how many there are. The Super Ninja Silverfish Trap is a flat sticky trap for the bathroom, the kitchen and the cellar: silverfish that walk across it get stuck to the adhesive layer. Do silverfish traps work?
Yes, a sticky trap catches the silverfish that run across it, and above all it shows you where they are and how many. That makes it a monitoring tool as well as a silverfish killer: after a couple of weeks you know which corner the problem comes from. A trap does not take away the damp that keeps silverfish in your home, so lower the humidity at the same time.
Which pack of silverfish traps do you need?
Choose the pack of 4 if you see silverfish in one or two rooms, for example the bathroom and the toilet, and the pack of 10 if you see them in more places or want to replace the traps every 3 months without reordering. The traps are flat, so they fit under cupboards, behind the bath and along skirting boards.
How many silverfish traps do you need?
Put at least one trap in every room where you see silverfish, and two if the room has several damp corners, such as a bathroom with a shower and a bath. After two weeks, check which trap has caught the most: that is where the source is, and that is where the next trap goes.
Where should you put silverfish traps?
Lay the trap flat against the wall where you see silverfish running, not in the middle of the room. Good spots are along the skirting board, behind the toilet, under the basin and the kitchen sink, behind the washing machine and in the cellar. Leave the trap where it is, and after a few weeks you will see where they come from.
When should you replace a silverfish trap?
Replace the trap when the adhesive layer is full or after 3 months, even if you see little on it.
Trap, powder or spray: which should you choose?
Choose a trap if you see silverfish regularly: it works day and night where they run and shows how many there are. A spray or powder with an insecticide only hits what it touches and does not show you where the problem is. In the UK we sell the trap only.
