Wasps are territorial. They do not build a nest near another nest and keep their distance from an area that already looks occupied. The Waspinator makes use of that behaviour: it looks like a real wasp nest.

Where to hang it

Somewhere visible at eye level or higher, by the patio, under a canopy or by the shed. Hang it before the wasp season starts, so in spring. If a nest is already nearby, you are too late.

What it does not do

It does not catch wasps and it does not kill them, and there is no guarantee that every wasp stays away. Certainly not if there is a sugary drink or food waste further along. So clear that away when you are sitting outside.
